So if you have been following our family blog you have probably noticed that I am definitely not the best blogger. I can go months without adding anything new, but lately my sister has been on my case about adding new pictures and what not to keep her updated on our family and since I maybe get to see her twice a year I felt like I needed to try to do better. So I have been putting stuff on here from the last couple months of what our family has done. And hopefully I will do a better job at updating our page more frequently. So Brooke this is for you:)
We took Payton over to Ross Park the other day to take a bunch of pictures of him. Every year for Christmas Brock's sisters make Jan a calendar. Since there are 12 grandbabies right now it kind of works out perfectly. So we went to take some up to date pictures of Payton so I could make my scrapbook page for the calendar. It really is a lot of fun and maybe someday I will be able to do it for my mom with my sister cause it always turns out so adorable. We took about 50 or more photos and I thought they turned out pretty good. I know they are not perfect like a professional would do but I like them. I would really love to buy a really nice camera and get into a hobbie of taking pictures. I have always wanted to do that, and I have talked to Brock about it quite a few time. He says that when we can afford a nice camera he will let me buy one. I am so excited for the day we actually have money:)
So we dog sat for the weekend and Payton absolutely loved it! He was definitely born to be around dogs. It really was fun having a little dog running around with Payton. Some day when we move into a house of our own we will buy a dog but there is no question we will be buying an outside dog. I do not do well with pee on my carpet!!! We are planning on buying a fixer-upper house which will be good for a dog so he will be trained by the time we get a real lawn in. But I can't tell you how much Payton loved having that little dog around. While we were watching the dog, whenever we would leave or the dog would do something bad, we would put him in the bathroom where his little bed and pee pad were. (He kind of spent a lot of time in the bathroom.) But for over a week after we gave the dog back whenever we would come home from going out somewhere Payton would walk straight into the house to the bathroom saying... "I want puppy", over and over. It was so cute but so sad at the same time. He really wants a dog and sadly we just cant get him one right now... but we are really hoping someday SOON!!!!

We went to a Halloween party with a bunch of our friends. It was a lot of fun... as you can see Brock went full out with his costume. Mine wasn't great but it worked. Sadly we didn't have time to get Payton one, plus we didn't want to pay any money for one and what we are wearing we borrowed from Brocks parents. It was also sad that we didn't get a picture of Brock and I together. Oh well, the night was a lot of fun!

Lake Powell has come and gone. Brock and I went to Lake Powell for a week and we left Payton with my mom and sister. It was really hard leaving him for so long I don't think we will ever do it again, but it would have been a lot harder to have him there. The house boat wasn't working right so we spent the whole week in the marina. That was kind of a bummer but it was still so much fun. It was insanely hot and the water was beautiful! We spent the majority of the time surfing but we also water skied, wake boarded, knee boarded, and tubed. There was also the cliff jumping and cove exploring. We had a lot of fun getting to know Erin better (Brant's new wife), and hanging out with the rest of the Johanson clan. It was so much fun! WE LOVE LAKE POWELL!!!

The Misner's are in town and we could not be happier!! Jaden and Payton get along so well, and we are so happy to have Jon and Brooke here. It has been a lot of fun so far even if there is not much to do:) We have gone to the park a couple of times so Payton and Jaden can swing while we play frisbee. We have also gone bowling, and watched plenty of movies.... oh yeah and don't forget that I (Cory) was the champion of chinese checkers even with everyone going against me. Jon played volleyball with me thursday night and Brooke even came to watch for a while. It was a lot of fun. Brock would have come but he has to work mornings so he thought it would be a better idea to go to bed:( But good for him. It has been so much fun having them around it makes me so sad that they are going to be gone for at least another four years:( I wish they lived close by but hopefully someday! I am pretty excited to spend two weeks in minnisota with them though, it is going to be so much fun. We are going to go to the Mall of America!!! and also the WaterPark of America and I am sure plenty of other things. Plus my mom will be there for a week with us so it is going to be totally awesome!
The other day we decided to take a short little trip to Lava with our good friends Tyler, Alison, and Tayson. It was a lot of fun. We walked around the town and went through the cute little shops. Then we went to the pizza parlor for lunch. Payton and Tayson are good friends:) We parked by a little park with toys so they could play. They are just to cute! It was a great day even though it was kind of cloudy and a little cold.

This is Brock and me on the top of the ski hill Brundage in McCall Idaho. We were fortunate enough to go up there for a week with my Mom, Karl, Grandma Sue, Alan, Jan, Rod, and Vlad. We spent two days out of that week skiing and it was completely amazing! Alan bought new skiis and was totally rocking the hill. Rod went to ski school while vlad went off and taught himself how to snowboard. My mom and Karl were professional skiers while Brock and I were trying to find as many jumps as possible. Brock landed a couple back flips while I fell on both 360's haha. Oh well I will catch up to him some day. We are so thankful to Jan and Grandma Sue for watching Payton those 2 days.It was such a blessing! We had so much fun skiing with the family for the next couple weeks after we got back home that was all we could talk about. But it is definately going to be fun next year when we teach Payton how to ski! (More ski pics at bottom)

So today I was sitting on the couch and I heard Payton playing with the door handle in the kitchen. I didn't think anything of it because I knew I had locked the door. Then it got really quiet. I went into the kitchen to see what he was up to. As I walked into the kitchen I saw our back door wide open along with our neighbors connecting door wide open and Payton was no where in sight. I walked over and saw Payton half way down the stairs making his way into our downstair neighbors apartment and all he did when he saw me was laugh. Payton somehow learned to unlock and open the door and he loved it:)

About Me
- Johansons
- Hello... and welcome to the Johanson Family blog:) I have to admit I am new at this and I am having kind of a hard time figuring this out haha. Anyways... about our family. Payton is, as always, quite the little stud! He is 14 months now and he almost weighs 20lbs. Hopefully we will be able to put him in a forward sitting seat soon. He loves anything that involves music. He loves to bang on the rockband drums over and over. He can even keep a rythm, for a very short period of time:) And he loves listening to dad sing and play the guitar. He will sit and listen for as long as dad wants to play. It is adorable! Brock is still in school at ISU. He starts his new job today which is a huge blessing!!! He has also been working on his music quite a bit. His new song is amazing! As for me I am still doing school on line. I have been in my last class for quite a while and I am hoping to finish really soon. I can then get a job as a Medical Transcriptionist and hopefully work from home. I am also playing on a tennis team with my mom. It is pretty fun:) I get to go to the Country Club every tuesday and have team lessons with Dennis the Tennis Pro! Overall... the Johansons are doing great!!!
